Seasonal Fall Maintenance Tip

Regular maintenance is a reality for home ownership.  Some things can be handled on your own but some tasks are best left to pros.  Here are a few fall tips to add to your Seasonal Maintenance List.

  • Plant Perennials - big payoff in springtime
  • Rake or mow leaves so they don’t build up and smother the grass
  • Inspect and clean gutters.  Check and secure down spouts.  Inspect roof and chimmney
  • Schedule annual Furnace system maintenance appt ensuring the furnace is in working order and all components are in working order 
  • Seal window and door gaps with caulk or weatherstripping cutting down on heat loss
  • Check insulation in attic for heat loss
  • Have dryer vent inspected
  • Have fireplace inspected and cleaned whether

  • Check outside spigots. and garden hoses
  • Clean gutters and check downspouts
  • Schedule a routine HVAC/air conditioner maintenance appt
  • Check all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries
  • Aerate lawn, spread preemergent weed control
  • Inspect outside of house - siding, foundation, windows, doors
  • Wash grime and dirt from the outside of house with garden hose and mild soap
  • Service sump pump
