A Note from Dee, Founder of Flying Solo
Flying Solo was born out of necessity – mine! I went through four major surgeries while living alone, each one was overwhelming. The night before the first surgery, I remember thinking, “Am I going to be able to do this by myself?”
It wasn’t just the surgery—it was everything after! Being alone, what if I fall, caring for my pets, getting to my appts. I had nearby people but they all had their own families and obligations. I couldn’t expect anyone to “hang out” until I was steady on my feet again. I didn’t need expensive round the clock nursing or transitional care - what I needed was consistent, affordable help till I felt better.
I cared for my aging parents and supported two friends through exhausting illnesses, I witnessed the relief that wash over them the moment they knew I was there. It wasn’t just about physical tasks; it was also the comfort of knowing that someone was there without fail.
Recovery feels far less overwhelming when you don’t have to go through it alone. If you or someone you love could use that kind of support, click the Contact Me link below.
We provide services that maintains a clean, organized home while your you focus on healing.

Companionship is all about connection and meaningful interaction—turning an ordinary day into something to look forward to.
When your essential tasks are taken care of, life becomes noticeably easier—making your time and effort feel that much more rewarding.
Downsizing or relocating takes careful planning and can stir up both stress and memories—but with our experience, we make the process smooth, supported, and positive.
We keep our client base small to stay flexible. We start with a video or phone call so you can see if personalized help feels right. If so, we follow up with an in-home visit to create a plan tailored to your needs for peace of mind.
Before surgery, we’ll sit down to review your doctor’s instructions and focus on home prep like furniture rearranging and meal planning. Once you’re home, we’ll help with daily check-ins, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, medication pick-up, appointment reminders, and pet care— these are just a few things Flying Solo can handle while you recover.
Our customized tasks are focused on recommendations from AARP.org, MinnesotaHelp.info, hhs.gov, mn.gov-senior-linkage-line and USA.gov. We offer home upkeep, companion support, organizing and moves, errands, appointment help, and pet care.
Birth is exciting but so exhausting! While you’ve prepped with a birthing plan, postpartum affects everyone. Let us handle light cleaning, errands, meals, laundry, and yard work so you can focus on resting, healing, and bonding with your baby.
We set up an appt calendar, text when we’re on our way and we can text a loved one when we leave so there are no suprises. A paper confirmation with date, time, and tasks is left on-site and are included with the receipt in your statement. This keeps everything transparent for planning, time tracking, and billing.
