On my 70th birthday, I was living alone in the house my husband and I raised our family in.  My kids were far away and they were busy dealing with their own families - I hardly ever saw them.  My home was comfortable but aging (just like me!)  Home upkeep was overwhelming me.   I wanted to move to FL near my sister.  The thought of moving and everything that went with it was daunting – there was so much to do.  I just never could get up the energy to do it. 

On a recommendation, I called Flying Solo and Dee Ryan.  She was helpful and confident.  We talked about my goals and what my timeline was. She reassured me that organizing and downsizing was actually going to be fun. 

I bought the two (2) hour Intro package to see what she could do and the time flew past! We started by organizing my clothes.  She separated the clothing into piles based on three (3) categories - Donate, Special Gift or Keep.  She brought different kinds of boxes, a label maker, and she dug in.  She checked each piece for holes, missing buttons, broken zippers and soiled fabric.  She then folded clothes and put away what I wanted into clear moving containers with easy open tops and labeled them Summer, Winter, Spring, Fall.  I had some scarfs, jewelry and hats I wanted to give to the grandkids - she had fancy gift boxes just for these pieces.  And then she folded up my donations in brown boxes. We dropped the donation boxes off at the Salvation Army.  Then she organized my closet with the seasonal clothes and stacked the clear boxes.  She also told me to write a memory or funny story about the gift and put it in the box.  I gave the grandkids their box and they LOVED the story with the gift.

I really liked Dee – she was fun, friendly, honest and a good worker.  I knew I found a rare jewel in this world.  She cared and knew lots of tips and tricks to help because it was very emotional.  I have been a client of Flyng Solo for a year now.  Dee has organized my home from top to bottom.  I am almost ready to move, and I’ve already asked her to come down to FL to help me set up. I could not have done this without her expertise, advice, and humor.  In my opinion, it was well worth my time and money.
